The Desothane® HD 9008CV is a high-performance reducer formulated specifically for use within the Desothane® HD 9008 buffable clearcoat system, supporting optimal flow, appearance, and durability in approved Desothane topcoat applications. As a fast-speed reducer, the 9008CV is selected when application temperatures are higher or faster cure cycles are required. When used with the 9008B0900D buffable clearcoat, it delivers a pot life of approximately 1 hour at 23°C (73°F), and is recommended for application at temperatures above 30°C (86°F). The clearcoat is applied in cross-coats to a total dry film thickness of 50–70 microns (2.0–2.8 mils). The overall Desothane® HD 9008 system delivers a high-solids, low-VOC finish meeting demanding aerospace requirements for appearance, durability, and maintainability, and is qualified for OEM applications including Airbus, supporting reduced cycle times, weight savings, and high gloss retention.
