Desothane® HS CA8300B is an activator component used in a variety of PPG polyurethane coating systems, including the CA8300 Topcoat, and the CV123 and CV124 Varnishes. Immediately after adding the activator to the base, the mixture should be stirred thoroughly until uniform. Aerospace Manufacturing and Design. The CA8300B activator is used at a 1:1 mix ratio with CA8300 topcoat base, along with the CA8300C1 or C2 reducer. When used within the CA8300 system, the cured coating is qualified to BS2X34 Type A & B and Def Stan 80-209, and meets the performance requirements of MIL-PRF-85285. The system is compatible with primers meeting Def Stan 80-206, Def Stan 80-207, BS2X33 A & B, and Mil-PRF-23377. The material should be stored at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C (41°F to 95°F) to ensure shelf life, and shelf life may vary according to OEM specification requirements.
